Our Story

Serving in Your Best Interest

Englewood is still a small town, although it has grown since our family moved here in 1973. We rely on our solid reputation to keep us in business. Honest, trustworthy, and competent — we’re here to serve in your best interest, so we can help you have a brighter financial future.

About Us

About Us

Like most young men, Tom and James wanted to be like their father.

At an early age, they spent after-school hours and weekends in John’s office being exposed to the financial markets, financial planning strategies, and learning their core values firsthand. Since the late ‘70s, the financial industry has changed dramatically. However, the Hinck’s values remain the same: “Treat everyone the way you want to be treated.”

Integrity, excellence, and personalized customer service have been the benchmarks of our firm since the beginning, and that will never change.

Our History

In 1973, John moved to Englewood and helped start the First National Bank of Englewood (now Englewood Bank). John left banking in 1978 to become a financial advisor. As time passed, Tom and James joined their father in the business. In 2019, they decided to partner with Commonwealth Financial Network®, which provides business solutions and support to a nationwide network of independent financial advisors. They offer Hinck Private Wealth Management access to tools and resources to help you succeed.

Hinck Private Wealth Management has been an integral part of the Englewood community for nearly 50 years.

Our Philosophy

We believe we have built a reputation of trust because we always do the right thing for our clients. We know each client's financial goals and circumstances are different, so we work with you to create the plan and strategy you need.

We believe in continual, ongoing education and training. We’ve been involved in the financial markets for decades, but there’s always more to learn. We always strive to advance our knowledge and grow our competence.

Integrity

As children, we were taught the importance of always doing the right thing, even when you think nobody is watching. We bring this same high level of integrity to every one of our client relationships.

Experience

We continually work to improve our skills. We constantly challenge each other to learn, grow, and evolve as financial advisors and professionals.

Relationships

This is our home, our community, and our extended family. We’ll continue to work within the community to grow and strengthen the ties that connect us to our friends and neighbors.

Recognized Experience

When you decide to work with a financial advisor, it is important to choose a professional who is worthy of your trust. Our advisors have earned several FINRA securities registrations. You can see our impeccable record at FINRA Broker Check. We have also earned numerous awards from local community organizations.

This award is not specific to financial services and does not imply an endorsement, recommendation, or otherwise reflect the performance of the advisor or any account.

In addition to awards, you may want to consider working with financial advisors who hold certain professional certifications. For example, for more than 30 years, the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification has been the standard of excellence for financial planners. CFP® professionals have met extensive training and experience requirements, and commit to the CFP® Board’s ethical standards that require them to put their clients’ interests first.

CFP® professionals take a holistic approach to bring all the pieces of your financial life together. As part of the CFP® certification, CFP® professionals also have made a commitment to the CFP® Board to act as a fiduciary when providing financial advice. This means they have agreed to put your best interests first, so they can provide you with confidence today and a more secure tomorrow.

CFP® professionals are rigorously trained in more than 70 areas of financial expertise and must accrue thousands of hours of experience prior to earning their certification. After earning their certification, CFP® professionals are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education each reporting period.

A Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) is a certification for financial advisors and investment consultants in advanced portfolio construction. The program requires completing a sophisticated investment curriculum to help advisors meet the real-world needs of individual and institutional investors. CIMA executive education is taught exclusively at some of the world’s most prestigious business schools.

The “Four Es” are required to complete the CIMA certification: 1) Experience - Applicants must exhibit 3 years of relevant work experience in financial services. 2) Ethics - Applicants must disclose any potential or real violations of the Investment & Wealth Institute Code of Professional Responsibility. They must also pass 2 comprehensive background checks. 3) Education - Candidates must complete an executive education course at a CIMA-registered education provider program. 4) Examination - Candidates must pass a stringent examination administered at a third-party testing center.

At Hinck Private Wealth Management, we are proud that both Tom Hinck and James Hinck have earned their CFP professional certifications. James has also earned his CIMA certification from the Wharton School of Business.
